Uh so I have a favor to ask of anyone who is in the Austin area.
I have to sell 20 tickets for a show I’m doing, if you live in Austin and you are free on July 14th (a Saturday) and dig electronic experimental stuff/ my music, then you should come check it out. It’s at the KickButt Coffee on Airport (by Highland Mall). I also have physical tickets for sale at $8 instead of $10 online so let me know if you’re interested! Also let me know if you have friends who are interested!
I will probably not be doing my regular DJ set shtick. I am thinking about setting up a crazy electronic rig going with my laptop (running either DJ software or Ableton), iPhone (running any number of the music apps I have), DSi XL (running the KORG DS-10), and microKORG all going into the Kaoss Pad Quad and just kind of jamming for the 30 minutes I get (but honestly who wants to pay ten bucks to listen to such self-indulgent crap). It’ll be mostly improv’d stuff I suppose, this is still an idea that I’ve yet to implement in reality so we’ll see. I could even do audience participation and ask for a genre/tempo before I start.
There will be, as far as I can tell, three other acts going with me that night. I have no idea what kind of stuff they’ll be doing since I haven’t heard back from the booking guys yet but I think at least one of them is a DJ?? I also don’t know what specific time I’ll be going on stage yet.
I’ll try to take a video of and post a demo of what I have in mind (as far as the setup goes) soon.
