One last video of last Thursday night (that I know of, at least!)
To close off my set, I played my Climax remix, into my most popular track, my Brodyquest remix, into a live mash of original track Floorbreaker and a remix of Diplo’s Horsey. Here is the Brodyquest portion of that finale, easily my favorite visual choreography for the night. You can hear a very small part of the Climax remix at the beginning of the video, and you can hear Floorbreaker coming in near the end.
Ah, the pride and joy of Astro Kid and Pollyck’s collaboration as a DJ/VJ duo. I think we ought to call it “The Ultimate Brodyquest Experience”.
Just to make clear how awesome this is. That’s Astro Kid behind that massive structure with Adrien Brody’s face on it. He’s remixing this shit live. I’m somewhere else in the club controlling the projections, editing/cutting what you see projected live.yeah see that’s the truly fucking amazing thing - they are not playing pre-cut clips - THEY ARE MIXING THAT SHIT LIVE.
Fucking incredible.
ok let’s get this straight, that’s not true for me at all, I am playing pre-made tracks that I put effects over live, and I mix tracks into each other but in no way am I building tracks out of clips. so the only “live remixing” is effects. sorry to spoil the magic, I don’t have that kind of equipment.
Tavia’s set up, however, is clips that she triggers live with plenty of room for improvisation. so that’s pretty BA.
